There are a lot of questions about the COVID-19 vaccines that are becoming more broadly available. Our friends at Houston Methodist Hospital have offered to provide a Virtual Town Hall meeting in English on January 20 and in Spanish on January 21. Please register to participate in one of these events, submit a question that you would like to have addressed. We believe encouraging our people and sharing information are the best ways to help our community and love our neighbors. Please encourage as much participation as possible.
Our next Red Cross Blood Drive is Thursday, Jan. 14th! Schedule your donation with the Red Cross on their website and we will see you in the Navasota FUMC Fellowship Hall. If you are able to give, please plan on donating.
The Aggies from the A&M Wesley Foundation are heading our way January 13-15. As the Aggies come to Grimes County they will be working on projects in our area where they will do jobs like paint, repair or install wheelchair ramps and porches. As their work begins join us in praying for their safety and their witness to Jesus as they serve our community.
Join us on Christmas Eve for a traditional Candlelight service in the sanctuary at 5:00 PM. We will celebrate the birth of Jesus with Holy Communion and the lighting of candles at the close of worship. There will be socially distanced overflow seating in the Fellowship Hall if needed.
Join us Saturday, December 12th, at 9:00 AM in the FUMC Navasota Fellowship Hall. We will be preparing cookie packages for the residents and staff at the Luther Unit. We will be social distancing and wearing masks and some form of head covering (hairnet, hat, etc.). Thank you for helping with this important ministry as we reach out in love to a community that isn’t reached often!

This year, our Christmas offering will benefit Special People Camp, a camp for special needs adults held at Lakeview in October each year. One of the leaders of SCSP is Pastor Bill Newcomb, who served here in Anderson. The camp offers campers fun daily activities such as music, crafts, dancing, canoeing and kayaking, helping them break down barriers. It can also give caregivers respite care. Those desiring to honor or memorialize loved ones are encouraged to make a donation of any amount that will benefit this deserving ministry. Donations may be made out to the church and marked “SCSP”. Donations are due by Friday, December 18.
We need your help to decorate the sanctuary for the Advent and Christmas seasons! We will gather to decorate Thursday, December 3rd at 6:00 PM. If you are able to join us we would love to see you and make quick work of making the sanctuary beautiful!
